Partners' FAQs

Why should my customers buy travel insurance?

Travel insurance lets your customers travel with confidence, knowing they’re protected against medical emergencies, delays, theft and last-minute plan changes.

What other types of TuGo Travel Insurance plans are available?
  • Trip Cancellation & Trip Interruption Insurance protects your customers if their travel plans are cancelled before they leave, or their trip has been disrupted once it’s begun. It’s available as part of a package or on its own.
  • Baggage Insurance protects your customers from spending more on their trips than they’d planned. It pays for the loss, damage, destruction or theft of personal items.
  • While not pleasant to think about, Accidental Death and Dismemberment Insurance provides payment in the event of death or dismemberment while travelling by air, sea or land. It also covers death and dismemberment as a result of all other types of accidents.
  • Rental Car Protection covers your customers’ rented or leased vehicle against damage.
Do my customers really need additional travel insurance if they’ve got credit card coverage?

Yes! Although some credit cards do provide basic travel insurance, your customers will need to read the fine print to find out exactly what's covered. Many credit cards have low coverage limits. Also, the coverage may apply for a limited time period, or be available only to a certain age group. Credit card coverage often only applies if the trip is paid for with your customers’ credit card.

When should my customers buy travel insurance?

Your customers can buy coverage before leaving on their trip. They can choose from a Multi Trip Annual Emergency Medical Insurance plan, Single Trip Emergency Medical Insurance plan or an All-Inclusive Holiday Package to cover their entire trip. This will include the day they leave and the day they return.

If they’re visiting Canada, your customers can buy our medical coverage or holiday package insurance at any time.

My customer is over age 60 and has a few medical conditions. Can he/she still buy TuGo Travel Insurance?

Yes, but some exclusions may apply, depending on your customer’s health. You can refer to the rate card or the insurance plan’s official policy wording for further details.
